The long low lying coastlines of Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex evoke thoughts of winding backwaters, snatchways and shallow hazardous waters. From Viking raids to the age of the container ship, the region’s long association with the sea has been a principal influence on the life of its people.

This book is written for those with an interest in the environment, history and personality of the coast between the Thames and the Wash.

David Fairhall is a yachtsman and journalist whose deep affection for East Anglia has inspired this book. He lives in the old town of Maldon in Essex and is involved with many local marine and environmental activities.

Illustrated by Chris Springham, and part of The Coastline Series.
